Bimatoprost (Latisse) Uses

Bimatoprost topical solution is the only FDA-approved prescription medicine to treat hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough eyelashes). It can give you longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes. Other forms of this medicine that contain the same active ingredient (brand name Lumigan) are used to treat glaucoma, a condition in which there is elevated intraocular pressure.

Bimatoprost (Latisse) Mechanism of Action

Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analog. It increases how many eyelash hairs you have and also makes them longer, thicker, and darker.

Bimatoprost (Latisse) Doses

Bimatoprost is available as a 0.03% solution. It should be applied once daily at bedtime on the lash line (at the base of the upper lashes).
