What may interact with Aliskiren?

Do not take this medication with any of the following:
-Atorvastatin
-Furosemide
-Irbesartan
-Ketoconazole
-Other medications for high blood pressure
-Potassium supplements
-Salt substitutes with potassium

What should I tell my health care provider before I take Aliskiren?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
-Dehydration
-Diabetes
-Kidney disease
-Low blood pressure
-An unusual or allergic reaction to aliskiren, other medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-Breast-feeding

What should I watch for while using Aliskiren?

Visit your care team for regular checks on your progress. Tell your care team if your symptoms do not start to get better or if they get worse.
Check your blood pressure as directed. Ask your care team what your blood pressure should be and when you should contact them.
If you have diabetes and take a medication known as an ACE inhibitor or ARB, do not take this medication. Talk to your care team if you have questions.
Talk to your care team if you wish to become pregnant or think you might be pregnant. This medication can cause serious birth defects.

Where should I keep my medicine?

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Protect from moisture. Keep the container tightly closed. Do not throw out the packet in the container. It keeps the medication dry. Throw away any unused medication after the expiration date.
